Mini Bio
Logan Johnson is a multimedia composer from St. Louis, Missouri . Music has been apart of Logan's life for as long as she can remember. She began playing piano at age of 5, and over the last 17 years she has practiced and molded her craft.
"Growing up, I watched a lot of television and film, I especially loved Disney musicals. It was the "Lion King" that ultimately changed my ambitions. I remember watching Mufasa’s death scene, which I had watched countless times before, but this time something was different. I was genuinely listening to the score, for the first time. In that moment, I knew I wanted make people feel exactly how I felt in that moment.”
In 2013, Logan attended the "Mecca" of all HBCU's : Howard University. Throughout her time at Howard University, she was blessed with numerous opportunities to perform, including the Candlelight Prayer Vigil hosted by the late Marion Barry Jr, sung for Former President Barack Obama, and performed at the 2016/2017 Kennedy Center Honors with the acclaimed Howard Gospel Choir. These experiences have truly expanded her passion. She graduated in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition.
Logan has composed music for several short films, her recent projects include "An Open Door" (Dir. Ray Jones) an official selection for the (2019 International Christian Film and Music Festival) and "Reaching for Sky" (Dir. Hannah Logan) for the (2019 San Diego Film Consortium).
Logan recently received her Masters's in Screen Scoring at New York University where she was awarded the prestigious Alan Menken Scholarship. She is member of the Alliance for Women Film Composers, Composer Diversity Collective and Grammy U.
