Simon TaufiQue is a British Indian, Emmy-nominated and multiple award-winning composer and film producer, known for The Interpreters (PBS), The Weight of Gold (HBO), Imperium (Lionsgate/Universal), Tribeca-winner, Land of Gold and Berlinale-winner, She's Lost Control.
A Protégé of Grammy-winning avant-jazz-guitarist and composer, David Torn, his accomplishments include working with top filmmakers and artists including M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense), Mary Harron (American Psycho), Julian Casablancas (The Strokes), Kevin Smith (Clerks), and Anja Marquardt (Girlfriend Experience). Simon has scored dozens of films, mixing bittersweet moods for films like Jesus Henry Christ (eONE), and Are You Glad I'm Here, with the dark intensity of Independent Spirit Award nominee She's Lost Control, as well as Lionsgate's thriller Imperium, and 2020 Emmy nominee, The Interpreters.
Simon has been the Program Director of the South Asian International Film Festival, is currently the Co-President of HRTS-NY, teaches Film Producing at NYU and has taught Masterclasses at Sundance Collab.
Simon's latest film, Land of Gold, recently won the Tribeca / AT&T Untold Stories award of $1M and an HBO Distribution deal.
