Mini Bio
Oscar Pan is a 2× HMMA-nominated, award-winning composer, as well as a filmmaker and music educator. Inspired by travel and the arts, he is drawn to nature, cross-cultural collaboration, and new sounds that speak to our living world and shared humanity.
Oscar earned his BM in Music Composition with a specialization in Screen Scoring from New York University in 2021 and his MFA from Columbia College Chicago in 2023. In 2019, he studied composition in Paris under Michel Merlet at L’École Normale de Musique de Paris and electroacoustic music with Max/MSP at IRCAM. He was selected for the SCL Mentorship Program in Los Angeles (2023–24) and is one of four composer fellows chosen for Issa Rae’s Find Your People Program (2024–25).
